Hooray for a long weekend! There will be no school from Friday, August 31st through Monday, September 3rd. Please enjoy the break and we will see you back on Tuesday, September 4th, when classes resume.
Say Cheese! Come to school with your hair brushed, your teeth shining and your favorite outfit, because today is Picture Day! All students, except Toddlers, will be participating in individual and group photos. Wiley Middleton will provide forms for ordering, prior to this day.
Children's House kiddos will take pictures outside at I Street.
E1 kids will be bussed to Alpine Park for pictures.
E2 and Secondary kids will also take pictures in Alpine Park.
Please make every effort to ensure your student's attendance today. The funding for the school is based on attendance on this one day of the year. If you have any trips coming up, please avoid this day in your planning. If you know your child will be absent on this day, please notify the office as soon as possible to make arrangements.
Please drop in for a glimpse of how the Montessori classroom and materials work! Come to see your child at work! We are trying something new this year and asking you to RSVP if you would like to visit the classroom, during the day! Watch Me Work for the older kids is now from 9-11am. This is a great opportunity to see the E2 classroom in action.

Please drop in for a glimpse of how the Montessori classroom and materials work! Your student will be your guide as they demonstrate some of the work that they have been enjoying for the last few months. This event is open to families of students and is come-and-go at your convenience. Please make sure to arrive no later than 5:30 pm, allowing your tour to be complete by 6:00 pm.
One of our favorite events of the year! The kids work all month, largely at home, on their chosen biographies. Today is the day that they get to dress up as their chosen historical figure and present their facts, so everyone can guess who they are. Parents are welcome and encouraged to attend. Times to be determined. (E1 and E2 will be staggered so parents with students in both classrooms can attend each event.)
Please join the E1 students for a wonderful evening of Cultural enlightenment. The kids have spent the last month studying a country, with their partner, and are now ready to present their learning. The students dress up in traditional clothing from their country and provide food found in the region. It's a fabulous event that you do not want to miss!

Please join us for this whole school event! The students from each class will perform and then we will break for tea and cookies before everyone leaves for the Winter Holiday.
(Students wishing to leave with their parents after the tea & cookies are free to go. The teachers will return to their classrooms for any students wishing to go back to school until the end of the day.)
Open Enrollment begins today! Anyone interested in applying to SMCS for the 2019-2020 school year can begin submitting applications today, found here. All applications received between February 1st and April 3rd will be included in our lottery. Open enrollment will close on April 3rd at 4:00 pm, MST. Parents, please join us for the final E2 Watch Me Work of the year! Once again, please RSVP if you would like to come watch your student in the classroom, from 9:00-11:00 am. This is a wonderful time to see your student interacting in the classroom, as they do on a daily basis.

Returning students, Intent-to-Return Forms are available starting today! Every current student must have a form filled out and returned to our office by Friday, March 15th in order to maintain placement for 2019-20. This is step one of the re-enrollment paperwork. Please visit this page to access the form for returning K-8th-grade students and this page for returning Preschool students.

The last day of school has finally arrived! We will have the Moving Up Ceremony at 11:30am (location TBD). Please join us for a picnic in the park once the Moving Up Ceremony has concluded. Thank you all for a fantastic year! Have a wonderful Summer!

Re-Enrollment Forms are due today. Many of you turned in your forms in the spring, but today is the cut-off deadline. Please make sure all forms are received by our office by 3:30pm today.

In the event that we have more applicants than openings, we will hold a lottery for placement. The lottery will be held at 1040 I Street and is open to the public. Applicants receiving placement will be called after the lottery and those receiving a space on the wait list will be emailed.
Important Deadline: All New Student Applications are due today, by 3:00pm MST, to be considered for the lottery. We need one application for each student applying. Whole School Event! Please join us for a Holiday Tea and cookies event. The classes will be performing songs and a short play. This is a great opportunity to have everyone together. Students may go home with their families after the event. Enjoy the show!

EII's turn to present the information about the Middle Ages Culture that they have been studying. A light dinner will be served, along with entertainment This is an after-school event, you won't want to miss it!

Another great event. The students study a country for the month of November and then share their presentations after school today. They will be dressed in traditional clothing and have traditional food to share. You won't want to miss it!

Open enrollment begins today! All applicants interested in attending SMCS for the 2018-19 school year must submit an application by February 14, 2018. If you are currently on our wait list and would like to be included in our lottery for the 2018-19 school year, you must submit a new application between December 1 and February 14, 2018. If you are currently a student at SMCS and would like to return for the 2018-19 school year, we must receive this form by February 14th, 2018. This form is crucial to reserve your space(s). We determine openings for our lottery based on the forms that are returned/ not returned.
