Silent Journey

On the "Silent Journey," participants have a unique opportunity to travel through Montessori’s stages of development beginning with the youngest children's community, the Toddler Classroom then moving onto the Children's House, Lower Elementary, Upper Elementary, and Secondary classrooms for silent and guided observation. With the absence of children, the classrooms are the focus. As such, the experience is of the authentic Montessori prepared environment and how they engage the senses.

The journey is completely silent. Participants may engage with materials and the environment but no words are spoken. Your questions will be answered at the Q&A session in the gym at 6:00.

• This is your chance to enjoy a hands-on experience of the beautiful Montessori materials that develop a deep conceptual understanding in our students.

• You will walk away with a rich understanding of what your child does at school every day.

• Learn more about the “spiral curriculum” that Montessorians talk about. 

The journey begins in the toddler classroom at the I St. campus, at 5:00 pm, and ends in the Secondary classroom at the 5th St. campus. Followed by a Q & A in the 5th St Gym at 6:00 pm.

Please plan to participate in the entire journey. It will not be possible to drop in for only a portion of the journey. Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move up and down with ease.
